Aston Villa

Aston Villa vs. Newcastle

Newcastle

Aston Villa in the head-to-head at 1.99 (Betfair)
Aston Villa +0.5 at 1.32 (Betfair)

This bet is based on a combination of Aston Villa’s excellent home form and Newcastle’s injury list. Aston Villa have gone 16-1-2 at home over the last twelve months and they have the league-best 9-1-0 home record this season. Newcastle currently have eleven players unavailable and those injuries have affected their form. The Magpies have lost four consecutive games as well as five consecutive away games. Newcastle have gone 1-2-7 away from home this season, which is the second worst away record in the league. Villa Park hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for the Magpies in recent seasons. Aston Villa have won their last four home games against Newcastle. Historically this head-to-head has always been dominated by the home side. You have to go back to 2013 for the last time the away side won a fixture between Villa and Newcastle.

Tottenham

Tottenham vs. Brentford

Brentford

Over 2.5 goals at 1.50 (bet365)

Both sides have been consistently involved in high-scoring games. Tottenham’s last six home games went over 2.5 goals and their last three games went over 3.5 goals. Brentford’s last four games went over 2.5 goals and their last three games went over 3.5 goals. Each of the last three meetings between Tottenham and Brentford went over 3.5 goals.

Liverpool

Liverpool vs. Chelsea

Chelsea

Liverpool in the head-to-head +0.5 at 1.68 (Unibet)
Liverpool +0.5 at 1.23 (Betfair)

Much has been made of Mohamed Salah’s absence due to the Africa Cup of Nations, but Liverpool put four goals past Bournemouth last week. Liverpool have gone 15-3-0 as the favourite at Anfield over the last twelve months, while Chelsea have gone 1-0-4 as the away underdog. This particular fixture has a strong track record of the draw, but this is the weakest that Chelsea have been in many years. They have a mediocre 4-1-5 away record, while Liverpool have gone 8-2-0 at home this campaign, with a goal difference of +18.
