Nottm Forest

Nottm Forest vs. Man City

Man City

Man Utd in the head-to-head at 1.99 (Betfair)
Man Utd +0.5 at 1.33 (Betfair)

This would have sounded like a strange statement at the start of the season, but I’m going to take a chance on Man City. They bring 6-1-2 form into this game and they will have had two more days of rest than Nottingham Forest following their respective FA Cup fixtures. Looking at the interactive EPL form guide for form against strong sides, Forest have lost three of their last five games against such opposition. While they have had an excellent season overall, Nottingham Forest bring 1-1-3 league form into this game. They have lost their last three games against City by a combined seven goals to nil. Forest have only one won game out of six as the home underdog over the last twelve months.

Liverpool

Liverpool vs. Southampton

Southampton

Liverpool -1.5 at 1.35 (bet365)
Liverpool in the head-to-head at 1.13 (Betfair)

Every week these days I look for ways to bet against Southampton and Leicester City. Southampton have lost nine of their last ten games and their last two defeats were by 4-0 scorelines. Six of their last seven defeats were by 2+ goal margins. Ten of Liverpool’s fourteen home wins over the last twelve months were by 2+ goals. I’ve opted for -1.5 rather than -2.5 in the Asian Handicap because there’s a huge drop-off from 2-goal margins (8) to 3-goal margins (2) for Liverpool. Also, Liverpool will be backing up after their UEFA Champions League away clash against PSG in midweek.

Brentford

Brentford vs. Aston Villa

Aston Villa

Brentford in the head-to-head at 2.35 (bet365)
Brentford +0.5 at 1.48 (Betfair)

Aston Villa will be backing up after playing away against Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League. They have only won one of their last seven Premier League games. Brentford have gone 7-4-2 as the home favourite over the last twelve months.

Wolves

Wolves vs. Everton

Everton

Everton in the head-to-head at 2.84 (Betfair)
Everton +0.5 at 1.53 (Betfair)

Everton are unbeaten (4-3-0) in their last seven Premier League fixtures as they continue to show good form under new manager David Moyes. With the suspension to star forward Matheus Cunha, I expect Wolves will drift in the market to the point that they start as the underdog. Wolverhampton have gone 2-0-11 as the home underdog over the last twelve months. Everton have gone 6-4-1 as the favourite over the same period.

Chelsea

Chelsea vs. Leicester

Leicester

Chelsea in the head-to-head at 1.22 (bet365)
Chelsea -1.5 at 1.58 (bet365)

This is simply a bet against Leicester City. The Foxes have lost 11 of their last 12 games and 10 of those defeats were by 2+ goal margins. Leicester City lost their last four games by a combined 10 goals to nil and those scorelines don’t emphasize how poor they have been. West Ham never had to get out of 2nd gear to beat the Foxes 2-0 last week.
