English Premier League Gameweek 37 Betting Tips

The following are betting tips for selected fixtures in Gameweek 37 of the 2024/25 English Premier League season. Where two or more options are provided for the same tip, pick the one that best suits your risk appetite.

This is the penultimate round of the season, so for every home team this is their chance to finish their home campaign on a positive note.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa vs. Tottenham

Tottenham

Aston Villa in the head-to-head at 1.38 (betr)

Tottenham have the Europa League Final coming up in the following midweek. With nothing left to play for in the EPL, they played a rotated squad against Crystal Palace last week and got smashed at home. It’s hard to see anything other than a similar result against Aston Villa, especially given the hosts are fighting for a Champions League spot. Villa bring 7-0-1 league form into this clash. Spurs have gone 0-1-4 in their last five EPL fixtures.

Chelsea

Chelsea vs. Man Utd

Man Utd

Chelsea in the head-to-head at 1.38 (Betfair)

This is effectively cut and paste from my previous pick. Man Utd have the Europa League Final coming up in the following midweek. They have nothing to play for in the league and will likely rotate the squad for this clash. Chelsea, meanwhile, are fighting for a Champions League spot, so their league form is crucial. United bring 0-1-4 league form into this game. Chelsea have won two in a row at home, and this includes a 3-1 victory over Liverpool.

Everton

Everton vs. Southampton

Southampton

Everton in the head-to-head at 1.42 (bet365)

This is effectively a cup final for Everton, given it will be their final ever game at Goodison Park – a venue they have played at since 1892. Southampton are already relegated and their draw last week has seen them avoid the fate of joining Derby as the worst ever Premier League team. The Saints have gone 1-3-14 away from home this season and their last away game saw them lose 2-0 to Leicester City – a far weaker team than Everton. In recent years Everton have a 6-1-1 record as the home favourite against Southampton.

Southampton / Everton HT/FT double at 23.00 (bet365)
0-1 HT score, 2-1 FT score at 51.00 (bet365)

The above are a couple of small-stakes speculative bets. There may be some early nerves for Everton given the historical significance of this game. On four occasions this season, Southampton led at halftime only to go on and lose the game.

Leicester

Leicester vs. Ipswich

Ipswich

Leicester City +0.5 at 1.45 (Betfair)

Leicester City have found some confidence in the last two weeks, which has seen them pick up a home win over Southampton and a respectable away draw against the 7th placed Nottingham Forest. Ipswich have failed to win 16 of their last 17 games.

Brentford

Brentford vs. Fulham

Fulham

Brentford in the head-to-head at 1.93 (Betfair)

This game features an in-form home side against an out-of-sorts away team. Brentford are aiming for their 5th consecutive win, while Fulham have lost four of their last five games.

Man City

Man City vs. Bournemouth

Bournemouth

Man City in the head-to-head at 1.53 (bet365)

Man City will be backing up after playing in the FA Cup final, but this is reflected in the odds. I will side with the host side because they are still battling to achieve a Champions League spot for next season (winning the FA Cup only grants you a Europa League spot). City have won four home games in a row and they boast a 7-0-0 home record against Bournemouth in the Premier League.
