Crusaders vs. Blues |
![]() |
The Crusaders boast an incredible 30-0 home playoff record. They bring 8-1 form into this game and in recent years they have gone 16-1 at home against the Blues. The Crusaders covered the line in 11 of their last 14 home games against the Auckland side. The good news for the Blues is they come into this game having just knocked off the Chiefs at FMG Stadium (the first side to do so this year). They also boast a 3-0 record at the line as the away underdog this season. The two sides last met in Christchurch in April and the Crusaders prevailed by a narrow 25-22 scoreline. Last year, the scoreline at this venue was 29-27 – another close contest. I will side with the Crusaders this week, however, because the Chiefs knew that they would make the semi finals this week, regardless of last week’s result. The Blues had gone 0-3 as the underdog this season prior to that game. The last time the Crusaders hosted the Blues in a playoff game was in 2023, and the Cantabrians prevailed 52-15. I would back the Crusaders in the head-to-head at 1.45 (Dabble). The odds for this selection are as low as 1.31 with other major bookmakers at the time of writing. I’m on the fence regarding the line and winning margin markets, so I will just stick to the head-to-head wager.

Chiefs vs. Brumbies |
![]() |
Since the launch of Super Rugby in 1996, no Australian side has ever won a playoff game in New Zealand. The Chiefs have gone 7-1 at home this season and in recent years they have gone 10-2 at home against the Brumbies. The Chiefs won and covered the line in their last four games against the ACT side. I would back the Chiefs in the head-to-head at 1.24 (Dabble). The odds for this selection are as low as 1.14 with other major bookmakers at the time of writing. I’m on the fence regarding the line and winning margin markets, so I will just stick to the head-to-head wager.
The multi odds for the above two selections are 1.80 (Dabble).
