Hawthorn vs. Sydney |
![]() |
Â
Under 194.5 at 1.52 (bet365)
Nine of Hawthorn’s 12 games at the MCG since 2025 went under the bookmaker’s total. Their average total score at this venue during this stretch was 166.3. Going back to 2016, Hawthorn vs. Sydney fixtures have averaged 148.6 total points and none of those games went over 177. Sydney have restricted their two opponents so far this season to 69 (Carlton) and 60 (Brisbane) points. Their own offensive potency this week has been damaged by injuries to midfielders Errol Gulden (four-months) and (possibly) Isaac Heeney (short-term). The average total score at the MCG so far this season is a whopping 183.4, so I will tack on some points and take under a higher total.

Adelaide vs. Western Bulldogs |
![]() |
Â
Over 179.5 at 1.52 (bet365)
Spanning this season and the last, the Western Bulldogs’ high-powered offence has scored 143, 132, 105, 126, 97, 111 and 134 points. Their fixture last year against Adelaide saw 207 total points. Over the last twelve months, 10 of the Bulldogs’ 12 away fixtures went over the bookmaker’s total. Adelaide welcome back Izak Rankine from suspension this week, which should bolster their scoring options. Fine conditions are forecast for Adelaide on Friday.

Richmond vs. Gold Coast |
![]() |
Â
Gold Coast to lead at the end of every quarter at 1.57 (bet365)
HT/FT Margin: Gold Coast 19+ / Gold Coast 1-36 at 6.50 (bet365)
The Suns, featuring Christian Petracca this year, have got off to a hot start. In both of their victories they jumped out quickly to build a huge lead and then held their opponents at bay for the rest of the game. Richmond fought back later in the game against Carlton last week, but they started slowly and were behind on the scoreboard at the end of every quarter. While the Suns have made a blistering start, both fixtures were at home. They thrashed Richmond at home last season, but lost to the Tigers away. While Richmond bring a six-game losing streak into this game, they covered the line in their last four home fixtures.

Fremantle vs. Melbourne |
![]() |
Â
Fremantle in the head-to-head at 1.32 (BetEstate, Dabble)
Fremantle went 8-3 at home over the last twelve months and with the data I have at hand, they have gone 5-0 in their last games as the bookmaker’s favourite against Melbourne. The Demons bring a seven-game losing streak as the away side into this game. They failed to cover the line in six of their last seven games as the underdog against the Dockers. Over the last twelve months, 13 of Melbourne’s 15 defeats were by 1-39 margins, however four of their last five away defeats against Fremantle were by 40+. I will stay clear of the line and margins markets and simply take Fremantle in the head-to-head.

West Coast vs. North Melbourne |
![]() |
Â
North Melbourne in the head-to-head at 1.50 (Bet Right, betr, NextBet)
OR
North Melbourne 1-39 at 2.30 (BetEstate)
West Coast have gone 1-22 over the last twelve months and that includes a 14-game losing streak and a 6-game losing streak at home. North Melbourne went 6-1-16 last season, but notably, they went 3-0 as the bookmaker’s favourite. North Melbourne’s two away wins last season were by 1-24 margins. Their one and only 40+ win over West Coast in Perth was back in 2001 at Subiaco Oval. The last five meetings between the two sides were settled by 5-10 points.
