Liverpool vs. Norwich

Back Liverpool in the head-to-head at 1.16 (Unibet)
Back Liverpool -1.5 at 1.45 (bet365)

Norwich won the Championship last season but my concern is they only had the 8th best defensive record in the competition. This doesn’t bode well for an EPL campaign. Liverpool have gone 6-2-0 in their last 8 against Norwich and this current Liverpool side is far stronger than any Norwich have played in recent memory. Liverpool finished last season on a nine-game winning streak and kept clean sheets in four of their last five games. They went 17-1-0 as the home favourite last season, with 13 of those 17 wins coming by 2+ goal margins and 11 coming with clean sheets.

West Ham vs. Manchester City

Back Man City in the head-to-head at 1.27 (BetEasy)

Man City enter this clash on a 14-game EPL winning streak and their last three visits to West Ham resulted in 4-0, 4-1 and 4-0 victories. West Ham have a six-game losing streak against Man City.

Back Man City to win to nil at 2.08 (TopBetta)

Five of West Ham’s six home defeats last season were to nil, while 10 of Man City’s 14 away wins were to nil.

Watford vs. Brighton

Back Under 2.5 goals at 1.75 (TopBetta)

All four previous EPL fixtures between the two went under 2.5 goals, with three of those fixtures going under 1.5 and two resulting in 0-0 stalemates.

Crystal Palace vs. Everton

Back Everton in the head-to-head at 2.50 (Betfair)
Back Everton +0.5 at 1.43 (Betfair) – BEST BET

This is more a bet against Crystal Palace than it is a bet on Everton. Palace are traditionally weaker at home than away. They only picked up 20 points at home last campaign, which was the lowest of any team to survive relegation. Palace went 0-2-6 as the home underdog over the last 12 months and their pre-season form was awful. In their six seasons in the EPL since promotion, Palace have never beaten Everton at Selhurst Park. Everton meanwhile have made three £20+ million pound signings during the summer as billionaire majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri continues to invest heavily in the club.

Tottenham vs. Aston Villa

Back Tottenham in the head-to-head at 1.32 (Betfair)

Since securing promotion Aston Villa have built a virtually new squad with eight new signings if you exclude the four that were on loan last season. Despite most of those signings coming in before the pre-season started, it will likely take a bit of time for the new-look squad to find its feet and build combinations. Tottenham, meanwhile, will field a very settled squad that went 11-2-3 as the home favourite over the last 12 months.

Man Utd vs. Chelsea

Back Man Utd +0.5 at 1.37 (Betfair)

Man Utd have a 4-4-1 home record against Chelsea over the last nine seasons and the visitors are without star player Eden Hazard, who has left for Real Madrid. Hazard scored 16 goals and made 15 assists last season, meaning he was involved in almost half of Chelsea’s 63 league goals. Chelsea’s ability to bring in replacement talent has been derailed by their transfer embargo, which ends after the January 2020 transfer window. Man Utd went 9-4-2 as the home favourite last season while Chelsea went 0-1-2 as the away underdog.
