NRL Round 13 Preview and Tips – Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs v Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles

THE LONG HARD LOOK WITH MIKE WILSON

Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs v Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles
ANZ Stadium, 7:30pm

If there’s one element of this game that I’m looking forward to it’s the matchup between Steve Matai and Jamal Idris. Make sure you’re holding onto your seat when these two come together! The matchup of halfbacks is changed thanks to Trent Hodkinson copping a suspension for is unsportsmanlike behaviour last week. Young Josh Reynolds takes his place. Reynolds played a feisty game at hooker in Round 11 and now gets a chance to demonstrate his energetic ball playing skills. Although it was against an under-strength Broncos side, Manly were electrifying in attack last week thanks to their 1,6,7 combo in Brett Stewart, Foran and Cherry-Evans respectively. They have shown an ability to score on the left and right sides of the field and Foran keeps defenders guessing on the fringes. The Bulldog’s big men will be the key to their fate in this one. Big Frank Pritchard was dynamite last week against the Titans and I really hope for his sake he can back it up with another good performance.

Mike’s Best Bet: None
