WBX Now Offers AUD Accounts

The betting exchange WBX now supports Australian dollar accounts. WBX previously featured in our article on betting agencies that don’t ban or limit winners.

WBX (the World Bet Exchange) is a betting exchange that was launched in 2006 to provide direct competition with Betfair. WBX has sought to grow its market share by charging lower commissions than its larger rival. WBX claims that Betfair members pay 35% more commissions than WBX members. The maximum commission for most sports with WBX is 3% compared to 5% with Betfair.

A key point of difference between WBX and Betfair from an Australian perspective is WBX is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission while Betfair holds an Australian license in addition to its Gibraltar licence. For this reason WBX permits Australians to bet in-play (live) online while Betfair only permits in-play betting over the phone.
