Top Five Players-

1- Newbill 27 PTS, 3 REB, 5 AS and 3 ST.

2- Machado 22 PTS, 4 REB, 13 AS and 1 ST.

3- Deng 19 PTS, 6 REB, 1 ST and 2 BL.

4- Koi 17 PTS, 5 REB, 2 AS and 1 ST.

5- Oliver 10 PTS and 10 REB.

Result Last Round- Melbourne beat Brisbane 108-94.

Quarter By Quarter Score- ,MEL 27-27, 22-21, 32-24 and 27-22.

Top Five Players-

1- Trimble 25 PTS, SIX REB and SIX AS.

2- Goulding 14 PTS, 4 REB and 2 AS.

3- McCarron 12 PTS, 12 REB and 7 AS

4- Barlow 10 PTS, 2 REB, 1 AS and 1 BL

5- Smith-Milner 19 PTS.

The Deciding Factor- Cairns ability to fight big teams. The Taipans are now 7th on the table and are just a single win of a finals spot. Last round alone, they beat last seasons champions, Perth, and if it weren’t for a LaMelo Ball triple-double, they would’ve beaten the Woolongong based side as well. This campaign they’ve lost to the Kings by just eight, lost to the Hawks by one, beaten Perth twice (WHAAAT!!!), lost to Adelaide by four, beaten Melbourne already and beaten Brisbane, a team who made the finals last season. Despite their low budget compared to the rest of the NBL, there’s simply no giving up within this squad. And that fight and that passion, should make for an interesting clash against one of the NBL’s premier teams.

Betting tip: Pick Melbourne to win at $1.50 (Bet365)

Illawarra Hawks

Result Last Round- New Zealand were defeated by Adelaide, 117-100.

Quarter By Quarter Scores- NZ 28-29, 15-31, 26-30 and 31-27.

Top Five Players-

1- Henry 18 PTS, 3 REB, 3 AS and 1 ST.

2- Hampton 15 PTS, 3 REB, 6 AS and 1 ST.

3- Webster 14 PTS.

4- Ashley 13 PTS and 8 REB.

5- Delany 11 PTS, 3 REB, 2 AS, 1 ST and 1 BL.

Result Last Round- The Hawks beat the Taipans 114-106.

Quarter By Quarter Score- Hawks 29-23, 30-24, 20-24 and OT 15-7.

Top Five Players-

1- Ball 32 PTS, 11 REB, 13 AS and 1 ST.

2- Coenraad 27 PTS, 2 REB, and 2 AS.

3- Dech 15 PTS, 5 REB and 3 AS.

4- Ogilvy 11 PTS, 10 REB, 3 AS, 1 ST and 4 BL.

5- Blanchfield 10 PTS, 5 REB, 1 AS and 1 ST.

The Deciding Factor- RJ Hampton vs LaMelo Ball. Hampton as of recently has looked like one of the Breakers go-to-guys and seems to really be enjoying his Ball, via his hot form. And LaMelo is coming of a historic triple-double. The youngest Ball brother hit the game-tying three which sent the game into OT against Cairns. And from there the rest is history as his side more then doubled their opponents score, 15-7, during that both critical and crucial period of the game. These two future NBA players and high-draft picks going head to head is always fun to watch. Both should have massive influences on their side in pursuit of the W.

Betting tip: Pick the Hawks to win at $2.50 (Bet365, BlueBet, UniBet)

Brisbane Bullets

Brisbane Bullets v S.E. Melbourne Phoenix

View a detailed form guide for Brisbane v Phoenix

S.E. Melbourne Phoenix

Result Last Round- Brisbane lost to Melbourne 108-94.

Quarter By Quarter Scores- BRI 27-27, 21-22, 24-32 and 22-27.

Top Five Players-

1- Cadee 18 PTS, 4 REB and 2 AS.

2- Sobey 17 PTS, 5 REB, 2 AS and 1 ST.

3- Patterson 14 PTS, 7 REB, 8 AS and 1 ST.

4- Gliddon 14 PTS, 2 REB, 2 AS and 1 BL.

5- Hodgson 10 PTS, 7 REB, 1 ST and 2 BL.

Result Last Round- SEM lost to Sydney 90-86.

Quarter By Quarter Score- SEM 19-25, 18-30, 28-12 and 21-23.

Top Five Players-

1- Roberson 25 PTS, 3 REB, SIX AS and 2 ST.

2- Creek 20 PTS, 7 REB, 1 AS and 1 ST.

3- Crokett 10 PTS and 9 REB.

4- Pineau 9 PTS, 12 REB, 2 AS and 1 ST.

5- Gibson 8 PTS, 2 REB, 1 AS and 2 ST.

The Deciding Factor- In Brisbane’s most recent 14 point defeat to Melbourne, there was some real poor shooting from some of their star players during that match. Patterson shot 4/19 and hit nothing from beyond the arc from four attempts. Sobey shot just 5/12 and was 0% from three. Braun was 2/5 and also was 0% from beyond the arc. Magnay was 0/4 in total and Te Rangi was 0/3. Some of those players listed there, are considered to be the Bullets best. SEM will come out fighting this game with their finals spot on the line and especially so after their tight four-point loss to the Kings last weekend. If Brisbane cant fix this shooting problem ASAP for this affair, then as we’ve seen countless times this season, the opposition team will run amok all over them.

Betting tip: Pick SEM to be victorious at $2.28 (BetEasy)

Sydney Kings

Sydney Kings v Melbourne United

3pm AEDT

Melbourne United

Result Last Round- Sydney beat SEM 90-86.

Quarter By Quarter Scores- SYD 25-19, 30-18, 12-28 and 23-21.

Top Five Players-

1- Ware 25 PTS, 1 REB and 4 AS.

2- Tate 24 PTS, 8 REB and 1 AS.

3- Bogut 9 PTS, 10 REB, 4 AS, 2 ST and 3 BL.

4- Newley 7 PTS, 4 REB and 1 AS.

5- Bruce 6 PTS, 3 REB and 4 AS.

The Deciding Factor- The Kings have 10 wins and just the single loss so far this season. Their only defeat was when they went down to United themselves 107-104 earlier on in the campaign. One made Trimble FT late on in the game managed to give Melbourne enough of an advantage to take out the crucial result. The Kings also went down 2-0 to Melbourne in last seasons NBL finals series. United are the Kings bogey side and whether they like it or not, they’ve got to figure out a way to beat them if they want to win this seasons Championship. This being as evidently they’ll either face them in he 1st or the 2nd week of the finals. Expect Sydney to claim a crunchingly close victory in what will be a massive confidence booster for the leagues best side.

Betting tip: Pick Sydney to be victorious at $1.63 (UniBet)

Perth Wildcats

Perth Wildcats v Adelaide 36ers

5pm AEDT
View a detailed form guide for Perth v Adelaide

Adelaide 36ers

Result Last Round- Perth suffered a shock 91-84 defeat to Cairns.

2- Kay 16 PTS, 4 REB, 4 AS and 1 ST.

3- Hunt 14 PTS, 4 REB, 3 AS and 1 BL.

4- Norton 13 PTS, 1 REB and 2 AS.

5- Cotton 10 PTS, 4 REB, 3 AS and 3 ST.

Result Last Round- The 36ers defeated the Breakers 117-100.

Quarter By Quarter Score- ADL 29-28, 31-15, 30-26 and 27-31.

Top Five Players-

1- Griffin 24 PTS, 4 REB and 1 ST.

2- Johnson 17 PTS, 11 REB, 2 AS and 1 ST.

4- Randle 14 PTS, 2 REB, 3 AS and 1 ST.

5- Moore 12 PTS, 4 REB and 4 AS.

The Deciding Factor- Cotton vs Randle, the battle of the NBL’s two best PG’s (although Ware would be in there as well). It’s always great fun when these two star-players and former MVP’s play and match-up against one another. They both get buckets and they both have winning in their DNA. They both love the cities they play for and they’re both awesome, awesome, awesome role-models for the NBL. Currently Cotton is averaging 20.3PPG and 4.2APG. Randle has averages of 18.7PPG and 3.7APG. Both players will have a massive influence on the outcome of this one.

Betting tip: Pick the 36ers to be victorious at $3.70 (UniBet)

Best Bet of the Round

Pick Melbourne to win at $1.50 (Bet365) vs Cairns
