Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 1:
FOREVER FREE (5) Really dug deep when winning last run at Caulfield. Flying this preparation with 2 wins from 2 starts. Looks well suited in this race. THERESABEARINTHERE (1) Shot clear to win last start around here and having second career run. Better claims. SOUL OBSESSION (6) Having second run back from a break. Gave them a lesson when winning last start at Mornington but up in class. Include in all exotics. ZOUSHINE (7) Came in 2nd last start at this track. Solid each way claims.

Race 4:
OCEANEX (3) At $7 was 3.1l behind the winner at Randwick last start on a good track. Expecting improvement but hoping that the added weight won’t hurt. Possesses very good finishing speed. Looks well placed. SOPRESSA (4) Sent around at $11 and ended up 1.6l behind the winner at Caulfield last time on a good surface but goes down in class. Serious contender. TIGRE ROYALE (10) Pulled away to win two runs back at Sandown but up against stronger competition today. Looks a great place bet. VENTURA STORM (1) Looked outclassed when 8th last run at Flemington and prefers to settle towards the tail. Include.

Race 5:
SEABROOK (1) Finished 2nd last run at Caulfield and displays very good finishing speed. Include in all exotics. NOVEMBER DREAMING (13) Having third run back from a spell. Was dominant when winning last run at Pakenham and gets a reduction in weight. Contender. SNOGGING (3) Really dug deep when winning last start at Bendigo and second up from a spell. Drawn to sit just in behind the speed. Must respect in this event. CLARICE CLIFFS (4) Displayed potential when winning last run at Caulfield but up against stronger competition. Winning chance in this line up.

Race 6:
GARNER (1) Got the prize when winning last start at the track but facing a stronger class. Likely to get a nice run behind the speed. Take holding out. ROCCABASCERANA (4) Having second run back from a spell. Good run placing 2nd last run at this course and should come to hand quickly. Include in chances. XILONG (8) Showed promise when winning three runs back at Sandown and shows good early pace. Worth a bet. SIZZLEFLY (10) Displayed potential when winning two runs back at this track but facing a stronger grade. Drawn to sit just in behind the speed. Has scope so do not ignore.

Race 7:
AFFAIR TO REMEMBER (14) Brave effort to win two runs back at Sandown. Always seems to find the line well. Should take beating. BETCHA FLYING (7) Solid effort when winning last run at Flemington and shows good finishing speed. Will be around the mark at odds. TOFFEE TONGUE (9) Snuck in a place when 2nd last time at Randwick in the ATC Oaks. Tracking very well this preparation. Modest chance for multis. SILENT SOVEREIGN (10) Third up from a break. Game effort to win last start here in the Auraria Stakes. Could sneak a place.

Race 8:
SUNLIGHT (1) Strong record when second up with 3 wins from 4 runs. Peaked on the run when 2nd last time at the track in the R N Irwin Stakes but should jump out and bowl along. Hard to overlook. AWAY GAME (16) Left nothing to chance when winning last run at Randwick in the Percy Sykes Stakes and dropping weight today. Going well this campaign. Include in all exotics. SAVATIANO (3) Was found wanting late when 2nd three runs back at Randwick in the Sapphire Stakes. Should muster plenty of early speed. Could sneak a place. LYRE (15) Stormed home when 2nd three runs back at Randwick in the Bel Esprit. Each way prospects.

Race 9:
TREKKING (1) Races well third up. Good run when placing 2nd last time at Randwick and strong performer at this trip in the past. Should be very competitive and is a genuine threat. BEHEMOTH (5) Resumes after a spell. Fought on well to win three runs back at this track and goes down in grade. Could prove to be very difficult to beat. JUNGLE EDGE (4) Was strong on the speed before fading to finish 3rd two runs back at Randwick and expecting to settle positively. Been in the money 3 from 4 attempts this campaign. Should take beating. HOME OF THE BRAVE (2) Second up from a spell. Grabbed towards the finish when 3rd last time here. One for the trifectas and first fours in this race.

BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 1:
This Queen Adelaide Stakes will be over before you blink. FOREVER FREE (5) has been favoured both runs and done the job. She led them and that may not be easy here but will handle the surface. THERESABEARINTHERE (1) won his debut with ease. He led and kept running the whole way. The barrier means he may be off the fence but is a factor. SOUL OBSESSION (6) showed she likes the softer ground at Mornington. Will be getting a cheap run near the inside. ZOUSHINE (7) has some blinkers now. She may improve sharply in those. EXTRA TIME (2) will be back and running on.

Race 4:
Sometimes the Port Adelaide Cup is a race to watch and OCEANEX (3) has the right form. While she hasn’t been in the finish, this is by far the easiest she has been in all campaign. Gets a lovely run and must be tough to hold out. SOPRESSA (4) is ready now after three runs back. Toughened up at 2000m twice, she finds a track she loves and conditions too. TIGRE ROYALE (10) is hard fit and comes out of good form staying races. This is a step up though. HASTA LA BULLET (12) is a game horse who goes at one speed. LOOKING AROUND (11) wants the rain around but could place.

Race 5:
At the mile, the Queen Of The South Stakes brings the girls from everywhere. SEABROOK (1) is the class but pays for it at the weights. She has run well both times from a break and her mile runs are very strong. Should get a charmed run off the inside. NOVEMBER DREAMING (13) will only keep improving. She is bred to want longer but with no weight and off a big win must be dangerous. SNOGGING (3) has had a month off since coming from back at Bendigo. She likes it fresh and has some prospects. CLARICE CLIFFS (4) is the same form lines. Seems like the mile is an important change. FIDELIA (2) often has no luck so more of a placegetter.

Race 6:
The Euclase Stakes is often won by a nice 3yo and GARNER (1) fits the bill. His two lead up runs before his Redelva win were good then he won with some ease. As long as he runs the 1200m, he has to be the one to beat. XILONG (8) dropped back in distance two weeks ago and didn’t suit. She now has the blinkers on and another 100m. Will be right there all the way. ROCCABASCERANA (4) has the 3yo form from the Spring stamped on him. He boxed on bravely behind Garner. SIZZLEFLY (10) keeps making improvement. She would love any rain around. BROADWAYANDFOURTH (13) will get back but attack the line.

Race 7:
In a G1 Australasian Oaks that has a few hopes we’ll go for TOFFEE TONGUE (9) coming off excellent Sydney form. Even though she is still a maiden, she’s run very well behind a flying Colette twice at Randwick. The barrier means she won’t have to get all that far back this time. AFFAIR TO REMEMBER (14) simply gave away too much ground at Caulfield. Surely that won’t be happening here and she should love the rise in ground. VEGAS JEWEL (5) just had no luck in the Schweppervescence Stakes. She is yet to get out. Her best so far has been at this journey. BETCHA FLYING (7) got some confidence last week and Waller can peak them here. SILENT SOVEREIGN (10) loved the pace of the race two weeks ago. This should only suit more. NUDGE (2) is another chance.

Race 8:
The G1 Robert Sangster Stakes therefore sets up for the class horses. SUNLIGHT (1) battled on bravely resuming and we know she improves off a run. She hasn’t had the luxury of this sort of field for some time. She can bounce out and sit two or even three wide but it’s only one bend. SAVATIANO (3) has performed well for a while now. She will be midfield and cruising up turning. Must go close. AWAY GAME (16) is an all-time tough 2yo filly. You want them like that to take on the older horses. The weight is critical. LYRE (15) should be ready to fire now. This would have been a target. I AM EXCITED (2) won the Galaxy two back and her form is all around excellent.

Race 9:
This D C McKay Stakes has a G1 performer heading up the weights and if TREKKING (1) brings his best he can handle it. He doesn’t know how to run poorly. As long as it isn’t a sit sprint race, he can wind up and show his class. Doesn’t want it very wet though. BEHEMOTH (5) resumes and goes well like that. His two Sydney runs were excellent. Will have been set for these races. HOME OF THE BRAVE (2) loves some sting out of the ground. He’ll be up there for some time. VIRIDINE (3) fought on well enough in the Irwin while PROPHET’S THUMB (8) can improve again. Obviously if we get substantial rain then JUNGLE EDGE (4) comes right into it.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 1:
The track is rated a soft 5 for the meeting, but keep an eye on conditions as rain is forecast between the time of acceptances and race day. An interesting race to kick off the nine event card, there looks to be plenty of speed as well as four nicely bred debutantes thrown into the mix. ZOUSHINE has finished a close second to the promising Ecumenical in both outings to date. Blinkers go on for the first time. EXTRA TIME ran home hard to finish second in a leader dominated event when resuming. POCKET GODDESS was impressive winning a Flemington jumpout last week.
Selections: 7. Zoushine (top tip), 2. Extra Time, 1. Theresabearinthere

Race 4:
SOPRESSA (also accepted to run at Sandown today) should be nearing peak fitness following three runs back from a spell. She has won twice here and is suited by the rise in trip. EPERDUMENT made late ground to finish just behind the placegetters over 1600m a fortnight ago. She won the Lord Reims over 2600m here three starts ago. OCEANEX steps up to 2500m for the first time after running fifth in the JRA Plate at her third run back from a break. Others worth including in multiples are TIGRE ROYALE, FRANKED and TURF MAN.
Selections: 4. Sopressa (best of the day), 5. Eperdument, 3. Oceanex, 10. Tigre Royale

Race 5:
FIDELIA was ridden up on the pace last time and couldn’t finish the race off. Three runs prior to that were very good, all when ridden back in the field. SEABROOK has performed well in both runs back from a break. The rise in trip suits, she’s looking to notch up her first win in just over two years. CLARICE CLIFFS steps up to 1600m for the first time following a strong win at Caulfield a fortnight ago. SHROUDED IN MIST had no favours last week, be forgiving of that run. Other hopes are SNOGGING, NOVEMBER DREAMING and POYSED TO REIN.
Selections: 2. Fidelia (top tip), 1. Seabrook, 8. Shrouded In Mist

Race 6:
I AM ELOQUENT (also accepted to run at Sandown today) won three of five last time in work, including a listed event at Caulfield. She was sent for a spell after finishing down the track in the 1000 Guineas. GARNER took out the Redelva Stakes at his third run back from a spell. Blinkers go on ROCCABASCERANA for the first time. He chased home Garner last start and looks better suited stepping up to 1200m. XILONG is another who will wear blinkers for the first time. Barrier 1 is in her favour, she’ll push forward from there. Others to consider are SIZZLEFLY and EXCESS FUNDS.
Selections: 12. I Am Eloquent (top tip), 1. Garner, 4. Roccabascerana, 8. Xilong

Race 7:
TOFFEE TONGUE has been racing in terrific form without winning. Her effort in the ATC Oaks last time behind Colette was very good, surely she’ll win one soon. SILENT SOVEREIGN looked to have a bit in hand when she took out the Auraria a fortnight ago. The step up to 2000m is a plus for her. AFFAIR TO REMEMBER is another who looks suited by the step up in trip. She has been involved in close finishes in all three runs back from a break. VEGAS JEWEL had no luck here at her second run back from a spell. Look for an improved showing from her.
Selections: 9. Toffee Tongue (top tip), 10. Silent Sovereign, 14. Affair To Remember, 5. Vegas Jewel

Race 8:
SUNLIGHT is likely to have taken a lot of benefit from her first up run a fortnight ago. She has won three times when second up and will be hard to hold out here. LYRE has been close up in the finish in all three runs back from a spell. She went back from a wide gate at Caulfield, running home strongly to finish fourth. I AM EXCITED fought hard to win The Galaxy at Rosehill two starts ago. She wasn’t disgraced under a big weight on a heavy track last time. AWAY GAME will have admirers. The 2yo drops 9kg in weight following an easy win at Randwick three weeks ago. Other hopes: 3, 11 & 5.
Selections: 1. Sunlight (top tip), 15. Lyre, 2. I Am Excited, 16. Away Game

Race 9:
SHAMINO didn’t have the best of luck when a close fourth behind Mum’s My Hero here two starts ago. He made amends when he took out the Manihi at his next outing. TREKKING chased home Greyworm at Randwick at his second run back from a spell. BEHEMOTH was runner-up to Gytrash in a 1000m trial here on 9/4. He has a good first up record. BOLD STAR hit the line well in a leader dominated event when having his first run for seven weeks. Out to 1100m is a plus. Have to include JUNGLE EDGE in multiples if the forecast rain eventuates. The wetter the better for him.
Selections: 9. Shamino (top tip), 1. Trekking, 5. Behemoth, 4. Jungle Edge
