Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 8:
POWER OF ST GEORGE (7) Landed the spoils when winning last run at Bunbury. Can figure. BEE QUICK (10) Kept running on late when 2nd last run at Bunbury. Suited in this race and can place today. SKINNEN TINS (3) Game effort to win last start at Geraldton but up against stronger competition. Should race just behind the speed. Don’t leave out of trifectas. EXCARO (2) Left nothing to chance when winning three runs back at Kalgoorlie. Has run into the money 4 from 5 attempts this campaign. Each way prospects.

Race 8:
Provincial Championship Series Finals are always hard to assess. While this edition is no different, fairly confident POWER OF ST GEORGE will give it an almighty shake. He’s still learning his trade, but has some real weapons and is coming off a dominant Bunbury series heat win. Has a high draw to overcome, but Paul Harvey rides him confidently and with even luck he’ll be right in the finish. The consistent BEE QUICK chased home Power Of St George last start and looks the map horse from this draw. Have a bit of time for ON RED ALERT. Pike on PASTRY looks tasty. ROSEBUSH never saw daylight last start.
Selections: 7. Power Of St George (top tip), 10. Bee Quick, 14. On Red Alert, 16. Pastry

Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 6:
ROTHFIRE (1) Was a comprehensive winner two runs back at Doomben but fresh after a break. Should muster plenty of early speed. Looks suited and must be respected. ISOTOPE (7) Scored a victory last run at Sunshine Coast but facing a stronger class today. Flying this campaign with 2 wins from as many runs. Take beating. WILD RULER (2) Having second run back from a break. Left nothing to chance when winning two runs back at Randwick but up against stronger competition today. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Respect against this field. BEYLIKS (4) Peaked on the run when 3rd last time at Rosehill and gets a nice run behind the speed. Place wouldn’t shock.

Race 7:
KINANE (5) Won last time at Randwick. Gets the green light today as the race suits and will be difficult to beat. PROFIT (1) Game effort to win two runs back at Sunshine Coast and will try to take advantage of the gate. Been in the money 5 from 7 attempts this preparation. Should be swooping on the field late. Key hope. BALLISTIC BOY (2) Brave effort to win two runs back at Sunshine Coast but rising in grade. Likely to race off the speed. Could run into the money. SKY HORSE (14) Won last run at Sandown and carrying less weight this time. Tracking very well this campaign. Trifectas chance.

Race 8:
VEGA ONE (8) Game effort to win three runs back at Gold Coast and shows good finishing speed. Can give this a shake. KEMENTARI (1) Made considerable ground when 3rd two runs back at Randwick and will benefit with the weight drop. Expecting to settle just off the pace. Can make a claim. OUTBACK BARBIE (15) Having second run back from a break. Really dug deep when winning two runs back at Gold Coast and likely to race off the speed. One to watch and an each way chance. DEEP IMAGE (11) Strong record when third up with 2 wins from 3 starts. Put in a competitive run when placing 2nd last start at Doomben and displays good tactical speed. Marginal hopes.

Race 6:
No doubt the Qld horses have good ability, just feel they are rock bottom prices. ISOTOPE couldn’t have done any more, her wins have been impressive, I would rather her at Doomben. ROTHFIRE had been outstanding and might have just come to the end of it when beaten last start. Nice freshen up and Byrne gets back on top.. BAYLIKS has only been seen on wet tracks. He should be able to stalk the leaders and get every chance. At double figures he looks overs. KUKERACHA gets blinkers and that might sharpen him up. No knock WILD RULER, the Snowden’s usually bring the right horses and he’s very well bred.
Selections:4. Beyliks, 1. Rothfire, 7. Isotope, 6. Kukeracha

Race 7:
KINANE is clearly the class horse coming off a G3 win ingood style. Has trialled well since then and turns upready to go. The gate isn’t ideal and these real stayingtypes I’d rather see increase in trip not come back to1800m though. SKY HORSE looks to have a real sense oftiming about her and with this stable it’s no surprise.Likely to go back from the gate but will eat up the1800m. Of the locals SMART METEOR and BALLISTICBOY both look ready for this trip and SUPERGIANT willrun along in front and give a sight for exotics.
Selections: 5. Kinane, 14. Sky Horse, 3. Smart Meteor, 2. Ballistic Boy

Race 8:
Wanted to take on the form from the BRC sprint but the fresh horses on the scene don’t excite a lot. VEGA ONE has been given two really quiet rides and there is no doubt the target is the straddy. This is a G2 and $100k to the winner so I’m sure they are a little more positive early and he goes on top. DEEP IMAGE is going to have to do a little work early, just feel he will be fitter and will look the winner at the 100m. You have to be very forgiving of VICTOREM but he had excuses last start. EF is ideal and his best is up to these. TYZONE was very good late last start and the gate is the only query. KEMENTARI, well he’s KEMENTARI. Does he want it enough?
Selections: 8. Vega One, 7. Victorem, 11. Deep Image, 1. Kementari

Race 6:
Cracking race! Rothfire can lead off his inside draw, Isotope & Wild Ruler should settle behind & I’d say those three will fight out the finish. No ‘official’ trials for ROTHFIRE however I’m sure Rob Heathcote will have him ready to go, game at his only defeat he either leads or box seats & if fit enough will prove the one to beat. Definitely rate WILD RULER who can race keenly, his recent barrier trial win was very good & he’s here to win, form certainly stacks up from his last start second. Absolutely no knock on ISOTOPE who has done nothing wrong, numbers improved nicely between wins.
Selections: 1. Rothfire (top tip), 2. Wild Ruler, 7. Isotope, 4. Beyliks

Race 7:
The Gunsynd for the 3yo’s where Couldn’t Refuse & Supergiant map to set the tempo, there’s a few who can settle handily, they may even push on & park closer. Massive wraps on KINANE who was the subject of big offers from Hong Kong, connections rejected those suggesting they think he’ll win plenty more feature races. With a touch of luck getting in here this should be the first of them! Very wary of the Maher/Eustace runner SKY HORSE who has impressed all 4 starts, she has a big strong finish & will be able to get right to the outside & wind up here. Locals BALLISTIC BOY & PROFIT next best.
Selections: 5. Kinane (top tip), 14. Sky Horse, 1. Profit, 2. Ballistic Boy

Race 8:
The days main highlight is the Group 2 Victory Stakes for the sprinters on their way to the Stradbroke. Map has Deep Image & Tambo’s Mate settling one/two with Free Of Debt crossing over to hold a prominent spot, 12 & 13 not too far away. The BRC Sprint run at Doomben a fortnight back was a leisurely run affair with VEGA ONE & TYZONE both very good performances v the tempo, the latter draws the car park whilst VEGA ONE doesn’t, if within striking distance in the straight look out! DEEP IMAGE can slide across & if there’s little tempo he & TAMBO’S MATE will be tough to run down.
Selections: 8. Vega One (best of the day), 11. Deep Image, 4. Tambo’s Mate, 3. Tyzone

Betfair – Race Selections:

Race 6:
ISOTOPE (7) is a filly of good promise. Made a huge impression on debut when romping home in a maiden by 10L then stepped up to open three-year-old company and was far too good again. This is her acid test but she looks up to it. ROTHFIRE (1) is one of Queensland’s better juveniles. Hasn’t been seen since suffering his first defeat in March but was impressive in wining his first four starts. Big danger. WILD RULER (2) missed narrowly when resuming in Sydney and has been kept up to the mark with a trial win since. Has good upside and can measure up. BEYLIKS (4) has placed at both starts and should be ready to go fresh off two good trials. THE DRINKS CART (3) won well first up and could progress off that.
Isotope (5 stars)
Rothfire (4 stars)
Wild Ruler (4 stars)

Race 7:
KINANE (5) is an exciting prospect. He stepped straight out of a Wyong maiden for an impressive win in the Group 3 Frank Packer Plate a month ago. His sectionals that day suggested he is very smart and he has been kept up to the mark with a trial. The one to beat. SUPERGIANT (8) was brave when leading and fighting well for a close second in the Doomben Guineas and was an easy Ipswich winner two back. He is improving rapidly and can give a sight again. BALLISTIC BOY (2) is a model of consistently and kept chasing when placed in the Guineas. Expect him to be in the finish again. SKY HORSE (14) is on the up and heads north off back-to-back wins in Victoria. Can take the next step. PROFIT (1) is never far away and should be included again.
Kinane (5 stars)
Supergiant (4 stars)
Ballistic Boy (4 stars)

Race 8:
VEGA ONE (8) looks ready to win. He has run on strongly to finish a length off the winner in both starts since a spell, the latest when fourth in the Group 3 BRC Sprint. Proven third up and is suited back to Eagle Farm having won two of three attempts here. OUTBACK BARBIE (15) is a capable mare who kept chasing and finished just in front of Vega One when a resuming third at Doomben. Her record at this track isn’t as strong but she is too good to dismiss. KEMENTARI (1) resumed from a long break with back-to-back placings in Sydney and hit the line well in the BRC Sprint. He may want further but will be near his peak so look for him late. DEEP IMAGE (11) improved plenty when beaten a nose in the BRC Sprint and has won four of six here. Also has strong third up form so can show his best. WINTER BRIDE (12) has a trial win under the belt and should be kept safe.
Vega One (5 stars)
Outback Barbie (4 stars)
Kementari (4 stars)

Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 6:
MILWAUKEE (7) Racing again inside a week. Hit the line well when 3rd last start at this course. One of the major hopes. HAUNTED (6) Charged home into 3rd three runs back at this venue and dropping weight today. Should get a lovely cart into it from just behind the leaders. Should be very competitive and is a genuine threat. MISS IANO (10) Ran on into 4th last run at Warrnambool. Displays very good closing speed. Watch market moves. MALIBU STYLE (2) On a short turnaround. Good run when finishing 3rd two runs back at this course and carrying less weight this time. Worth an investment.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 6:
HOME OF THE BRAVE is back a notch here but has 62kg. MALIBU STYLE is always honest. RICH CHARM is all quality. He was ridden but hit the line in a recent jumpout. Betting? HAUNTED can win on his Hareeba Stakes run. MILWAUKEE might be ready now, he draws wider this time and 1200m is his best winning trip. MISS IANO keeps racing well without much going right, she’s drawn to swoop here. LA TIGERESA and LORD VON COSTA are fresh hopes but draw in.
