Fulham vs. Arsenal

Back Arsenal in the head-to-head at 1.57 (Unibet, Sportsbet)

I’m putting my neck out a bit because Arsenal went 1-5-4 as the away favourite last season, but they have a fantastic record against Fulham, who were promoted via the playoffs last season. The Gunners have won their last five straight against the Cottagers, including their last three visits to Craven Cottage by a combined 9 goals to 2. After a run of 22 games where Arsenal picked up 13 draws, the Gunners finished last season in 8-1-4 form. They also won the FA Cup final and Community Shield so they bring excellent form into this clash.

West Brom vs. Leicester City

Back Leicester City in the head-to-head at 2.02 (Unibet)

Anything over 2.00 is worth taking for Leicester who went 5-1-3 as the away favourite last season. They have won each of their last four visits to The Hawthorns.

Liverpool vs. Leeds

Back Liverpool in the head-to-head at 1.29 (Unibet)

The odds appear short until you consider that Liverpool went 18-1-0 at home last season.

Crystal Palace vs. Southampton

Back Southampton in the head-to-head at 2.54 (Unibet)
Back Southampton +0.5 at 1.42 (bet365)

At the time of writing it is unclear whether Wilfred Zaha will still be playing for Crystal Palace, but my tip remains the same regardless. Crystal Palace went 0-3-7 as the home underdog over the last 12 months while Southampton went 2-0-0 as the away favourite. Only Liverpool and Manchester City had better away records than Southampton last season. City only achieved 3 more points on the road than Southampton managed. Crystal Palace finished last season on a 0-1-7 run and they were held scoreless in six of those fixtures. Southampton ended last season on a seven-game unbeaten streak and they won their last three visits to Selhurst Park without conceding a goal.

Tottenham vs. Everton

Back Tottenham in the head-to-head at 1.85 (Unibet)
Back Tottenham +0.5 at 1.23 (bet365)

I expect Everton will have a strong season but given the venue of this fixture I’m going to oppose them here. Tottenham have gone 11-3-3 at home over the last 12 months and 9-2-2 as the home favourite. They ended last season with four straight wins at home. Everton had only the 14th best away record in the league last season and they went 1-1-7 as the away underdog over the last 12 months. Over the last ten years Tottenham have gone 6-4-0 at home against Everton in league meetings.

Brighton vs. Chelsea

Back Chelsea in the head-to-head at 1.67 (Unibet)
Back Chelsea +0.5 at 1.19 (bet365)

Based on last season’s stats the 1.67 odds look a bit short for Chelsea, but they have since spent over £200m on squad acquisitions now that their transfer embargo has been lifted. Since promotion Brighton have gone 0-1-5 against Chelsea so suffice to say the Blues aren’t their favourite opponents.
