Brighton vs. Manchester United

Back Manchester United in the head-to-head at 1.80 (BlueBet, Unibet)

Manchester United’s awful opening result against Crystal Palace has created value for them this week. They have won their last four away fixtures while Brighton are winless in their last five home games. United did the double over Brighton last season with a combined scoreline of six goals to nil. Brighton enter this fixture on the back of a win and they have only won 1 of their last 8 on the back of a win while Man Utd have only lost 1 of their last 7 on the back of a defeat.

Crystal Palace vs. Everton

Back Everton +0.5 at 1.30 (bet365)

Both sides enter this clash with 2-0 records but it’s Everton who have impressed the most. James Rodriguez’s addition has given the club a major boost in midfield and the five goals scored against West Brom highlights their improved attacking threat. A draw is the most likely result for this clash, but with their substantial investment during the off-season, an Everton win is also a good chance. The Toffees are unbeaten in their last eleven clashes against Crystal Palace. While the Eagles have secured a number of home draws against Everton, they won’t have the backing of their vocal fans this week.

Back Wilfried Zaha to score anytime at 4.40 (Unibet)

I’ve been kicking myself for not recommending a bet on Wilfried Zaha to score last week at 5.00 given he’s evidently on a mission to secure a move to a bigger club. Zaha scored in pre-season and has scored 3 goals in two games so far this campaign. One of the possible destinations for Zaha is Everton so I’m expecting a big game from him has he tries to make an impression on a potential suitor.

West Brom vs. Chelsea

Back Chelsea in the head-to-head at 1.37 (Unibet)

This is a perfect get-right game for Chelsea following their 0-2 defeat to Liverpool when they finished with ten men. West Brom have conceded eight goals in their opening two games and Chelsea opened their account with a 3-1 away win over Brighton, who are in much stronger form than West Brom.

Sheffield United vs. Leeds

Back Over 2.5 goals at 2.06 (bet365)

This pick is based primarily on the form of Leeds, who can’t stop scoring or conceding goals at the moment. Their opening two fixtures were against completely contrasting opponents (Liverpool and Fulham) and both ended with seven goals scored.

Tottenham vs. Newcastle

Back Tottenham in the head-to-head at 1.48 (Unibet)

Tottenham bring 5-2-1 form into this clash compared to 1-2-5 form for Newcastle. After an upset win over West Ham, Newcastle were brought back down to earth by a terrible performance in their 0-3 home defeat to Brighton. Tottenham, in contrast, rebounded from their opening defeat to Everton by putting five goals past Southampton. Tottenham are now back at home and will be looking to make amends for both their Round 1 home defeat and their home defeat to Newcastle last season.

West Ham vs. Wolverhampton

Back Wolverhampton in the head-to-head at 2.25 (Unibet)
Back Wolverhampton to win to nil at 3.70 (Unibet)

Wolverhampton have gone 5-2-2 as the away favourite over the last 12 months while West Ham have gone 1-1-4 as the home underdog. Wolverhampton have won their last four fixtures against the Hammers by a combined 8 goals to nil.

Fulham vs. Aston Villa

Back Aston Villa +0.5 at 1.45 (bet365)

Fulham’s regular defensive lapses have seen them concede seven goals in their opening two fixtures. They now take on Aston Villa, who are undefeated in their last five games.

Liverpool vs. Arsenal

Back Liverpool in the head-to-head at 1.48 (Unibet)

Liverpool were a class above Chelsea last week and they boast a 16-1-0 home record over the last 12 months. Arsenal were lucky to defeat West Ham last round and they have lost their last four visits to Anfield. The Gunners conceded 14 shots against the Hammers, which bodes ominously for this clash.

  1. Can Leeds do another 4-3 or 3-4 result? You can get $126 odds on each of them! Due to Fulham’s leaky defence I’m taking Aston Villa at $2.55 in the h2h rather than +0.5.
