Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 8:
YOU MAKE ME SMILE just held his ground in the run home at Rosehill first up after racing keenly throughout. Only finished 2L off the handy Bon Amis so the run contained merit considering he isn’t a noted fresh performer. He grows a leg second up (3: 3-0-0) and rises to his preferred trip of 1200m. MILWAUKEE might not have the class of some of his rivals but he’s rock-hard fit and a straight-track specialist with Oliver staying on. Keen to see how SESAR responds here after disappointing at Caulfield. A win here would silence plenty of his doubters. HOLY BLADE is knocking on the door.
Selections: 13. You Make Me Smile, 7. Milwaukee, 4. Sesar, 10. Holy Blade

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 8:
SESAR (4) Scored a victory two runs back at Randwick and third up from a break. Could prove hard to beat. MILWAUKEE (7) Got the upper hand late when winning two runs back at this track and solid performer at this trip in the past. Can make a claim. ICONOCLASM (3) Really dug deep when winning three runs back at Caulfield and jockey Brett Prebble rates highly. Will be motoring home late. Goes very close. MALIBU STYLE (2) Brave effort to win two runs back here. Jockey Damian Lane and trainer Neville Parnham link well together. Looks set to run a place

Murray Bridge

bet365 – Suggested Play:

Race 4: Alizee quinella with Le Romain Vegadaze
Race 5: Lucicello and Dawn Passage

Unibet – Race Comments:

Race 4:
ALIZEE (4) Did well to run into 3rd three runs back at Flemington and has a great burst of speed late. Appeals best. LE ROMAIN (1) Had a break from racing and returns to competition here. Finished 6th last time at Randwick but looks well graded here. Could pose a threat and expected to go very close. VEGADAZE (2) Got the upper hand late when winning three runs back at this course but resuming after a spell. Will be pushing for a forward position early. Winning hope. INVINCIBLE GEM (5) Fought on gamely when winning two runs back at the track but racing fresh after a break. Each way.

Race 5:
LUCICELLO (5) Did enough to win last start at this course but up against stronger competition here. Live winning chance. DAWN PASSAGE (2) First up after a break. Won easily two runs back at Randwick but rising in class. Appears well in this. ATHIRI (3) First up after a break. Kept finding the line when 3rd two runs back at Randwick and will find this grade easier. Should go well. ANAHEED (1) Was fighting out the finish when winning last start at Randwick and should be going forward early. Winning hope.

BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 4:
ALIZEE (4) has only tasted defeat once fresh (3/4) and it’s hard to suggest she won’t return a winner here. Very well treated under the WFA conditions and has trialled as well as ever. Bowman sticks and with even luck she simply should be too good. LE ROMAIN (1) certainly won’t go down without a fight and while mixing his form last time in, he is certainly more than capable. VEGADAZE (2) is the big query runner, no doubt he is flying, but this is a big step up. INVINCIBLE GEM (5) won this race in 2017, next best.

Race 5:
LUCICELLO (5) hits this on the up following a dynamic win at this track last start over 1200m. Returned good figures there and has clearly appreciated being ridden back off the speed. Likely to adopt similar tactics here and should be very strong late. DAWN PASSAGE (2) has displayed plenty of talent in his two runs to date and remains a big watch fresh for the Waterhouse & Bott stable. Gets the blinkers on for the first time and looms as a major threat. ATHIRI (3) has trialled well and also has to be respected, along with ANAHEED (1) who went out a winner.

BetEasy – The King’s Tips:

Race 4:
2. Vegadaze (5 stars)
4. Alizee (4 stars)
1. Le Romain (2 stars)
5. Invincible Gem (2 stars)

Race 5:
1. Anaheed (5 stars)
5. Lucicello (4 stars)
8. Superium (2 stars)
2. Dawn Passage (2 stars)

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 4:
The feature of the day draws only five to compete. Expectedly though, and thankfully, there is good quality here. VEGADAZE hasn’t wanted to lead his trials but he is the obvious frontrunner among this group. ALIZEE beat LE ROMAIN in the summer equivalent and has trialled very nicely leading into this. Can see her biding her time out back and then pinging past. LE ROMAIN is a horse I like a great deal. Three G1 wins and seven further placings at the highest level, he is very capable fresh and will acquit himself well no doubt. On the counter side, he is now in a situation where he has won only once from his latest 21 starts.
Selections: 4. Alizee, 1. Le Romain, 2. Vegadaze, 5. Invincible Gem

Race 5:
This is a little beauty at the halfway mark of the meeting. I’m tempted by CARDIFF, always impressive at the trials but hopefully this time around he can bring it to the races. Expect him to jump and run and the others could find him hard to reel in. DAWN PASSAGE has trialled nicely recently as well and I will be interested to see what approach they adopt with him as he resumes wearing blinkers. ATHIRI has never offered us a poor run and there’ll be some stakes wins in her future for sure. Maybe here? ANAHEED jogged to victory in her latest trial but has to give some handy horses plenty of weight.
Selections: 7. Cardiff, 2. Dawn Passage, 3. Athiri, 1. Anaheed

Betfair – Race Selections:

Race 4:
1. Alizee (5 stars)
2. Le Romain (4 stars)
4. Vegadaze (4 stars)

Race 5:
1. Dawn Passage (4 stars)
2. Lucicello (5 stars)
3. Athiri (4 stars)

Ladbrokes – Race Comments:

Race 4:
ALIZEE back after 17 week break. Proven first-up winning three from four when fresh and won at Randwick last go, the one to beat. LE ROMAIN resumes after a 16 week spell and winner of three when first-up including ran second at Rosehill last go, outside hope. INVINCIBLE GEM back from 17 week spell and doesn’t take many to get going winning two when fresh, for the exotics. VEGADAZE resumes after a 22 week spell and winner when on debut at Canterbury, consider in exotics.

Race 5:
DAWN PASSAGE first-up after 26 week spell and undefefeated in two lead-up trials, key chance. ANAHEED first-up after 17 week break and won one of two trials, don’t dismiss. ATHIRI resumes from a 17 week spell and has had success trialling, needs the breaks. LUCICELLO can’t knock the form winning two in a row at Rosehill and Randwick, capable of getting into the money.
