Titans

Titans v Cowboys

Cbus Super Stadium

Form guide for Titans vs Cowboys

Cowboys

The Titans’ struggles on-field continued against the Broncos last week, with the Gold Coast club held scoreless in the second-half, surrendering a 20-point lead in a woeful performance. They will face the high-flying Cowboys, but the resurgent Queensland club will be heavily weakened with a number of stars selected for the Maroons.

North Queensland will be missing Jeremiah Nanai, Reuben Cotter, Valentine Holmes and Tom Dearden with Origin. Jason Taumalolo will make a timely return at lock with Brendan Elliot, Ben Hampton and Connelly Lemuelu joining the squad at wing, halfback and the bench respectively. For the Titans, Tino Fa’asuamaleaui is their only Origin player as Moeaki Fotuaika makes a timely return from injury at prop as cover. Patrick Herbert will return at centre, pushing Esan Marsters to the bench as Sam McIntyre covers the injured David Fifita in the second-row.

Despite a 22-nil loss to a red-hot Penrith squad last week and missing four Origin representatives, North Queensland will enter this match as firm favourites. The Titans’ season is on life-support with the club needing to win a huge number of games to make the finals. This match could go either way but expect North Queensland to get the points.

Betting Tip: Titans +4.5 @ $1.90 (Playup)

Panthers

Panthers v Bulldogs

Form guide for Panthers vs Bulldogs

Bulldogs

Penrith’s depth and rookie system will be put to the test against the Bulldogs this week with a whopping six players selected for the Blues. Despite their missing troops, the Panthers represent a huge challenge for a Bulldogs squad still finding their feet under interim coach Michael Potter.

Brian To’o, Stephen Crichton, Nathan Cleary, Jarome Luai, Liam Martin and Isaah Yeo will all be absent for Penrith with Kurt Falls and Sean O’Sullivan drafted into the halves, Robert Jennings, Charlie Stains, Chris Smith and Matt Eisenhuth will also join the squad as cover.

Penrith have a wealth of talent within their roster and despite missing six players to Origin they will enter this match as heavy favourites. Expect the likes of Api Koroisau, Dylan Edwards and James Fisher-Harris to make life difficult for a Canterbury squad who have struggled defensively. Penrith to get the win.

Betting Tip: Panther -9.5 @ $1.91 (Bet365)

Sea Eagles

Sea Eagles v Warriors

Saturday, June 4, 7:35pm AEST
4 Pines Park

Form guide for Sea Eagles vs Warriors

Warriors

Pressure continues to mount on Warriors’ coach Nathan Brown after his squad suffered another disappointing loss to the lowly Knights last week with consistency across 80 minutes still eluding the Kiwi club. They will face a Sea Eagles outfit that risks losing-touch with the top eight after a poor loss to Melbourne and veteran mentor Des Hasler will be desperate to climb the ladder during the representative period.

The Warriors will welcome Wayde Egan and Bayley Sironen back from extended injury absences at hooker and off the bench respectively. Meanwhile, Manly will receive a massive boost with the return of Martin Tuapau and Karl Lawton on the bench. Josh Schuster will shift to five-eighth to cover the absent Daly Cherry-Evans in an otherwise unchanged squad.

Having produced disappointing starts to their respective seasons, both Manly and the Warriors will be eager to bank premiership points over the Origin period. Each team will be well below their best but expect Des Hasler’s track-record of performing under adversity to prove the difference. Manly to get the win.

Betting Tip: Manly -4.5 @ $1.80 (Bet365)

Raiders

Raiders v Roosters

Sunday, June 5, 4:05pm AEST
GIO Stadium

Form guide for Raiders vs Roosters

Roosters

Canberra will be desperate to make-up for a poor start to their season over the representative period after an impressive form resurgence, despite losing to the Eels last week in a committed performance. They will face a massive test against an in-form Roosters outfit who produced their most cohesive performances of the season for an impressive victory over Cronulla.

Canberra will be without Jack Wighton and Josh Papalii due to Origin, with Matt Frawley set to join the halves and Corey Harawira-Naera joining the interchange alongside debutant Trey Mooney. Daniel Tupou, Lindsay Collins and James Tedesco are the Roosters’ Origin casualties with Joey Manu shifting to fullback with Kevin Naiqama and Billy Smith joining the backline at centre and wing respectively. Egan Butcher will also join the bench in an otherwise unchanged line-up.

A victory over the Tricolours would be a massive confidence boost for a Raiders outfit desperate to return to the top-eight. This match could go either way but expect the class within this Roosters line-up to prove the difference.

Betting Tip: Roosters -4.5 @ $1.91 (Unibet, Bet365)
