Match Comments

Man City vs Chelsea

A great game to start the weekend’s fixtures. Chelsea look value here on both sets of data. It surprised us to see Man City as a grade 2 team at home but their record is now bettered by 6 teams and they have failed to win 9 from 19 games on a rolling season basis.

Sunderland vs Leicester

Two teams, in abysmal form, face off at the Stadium of Light on Saturday. There is mixed signals in terms of value, with Leicester ahead on the similar opposition analysis. Sunderland however, have come good in the last few weeks, so this is a game best avoided

Stoke vs Burnley

Stoke are too short here, we put them more at evens. They have only won 8 of their last 19 home games and 2 of their last 6 yet their odds would suggest a much better record. Granted, Burnley aren’t the best team away but the difference in odds is just too great. One way to play this would be the Asian Handicap with Burnley receiving a goal start. They would need to lose by 2 for you to lose your bet.

West Brom vs Watford

West Brom have had some reasonable results at home this season but its Watford that are the value pick here. They have a decent record away from home this season and look too high at 3.80. We rate this game more of an even chance for each outcome (33%) whereas the odds for Watford on the betting markets reflects 26%.

Crystal Palace vs Southampton

On a rolling season basis Palace are now at the bottom of the league with their home form being the main culprit. However, the bookmakers look to have this game about right, with some slight value on Southampton on the Asian Handicap.

Tottenham vs Swansea

Spurs are now the best team in the league on a rolling season basis. We’d like to see better odds before getting involved with Spurs as they have a tendency to draw a few games at home, one of the most annoying outcomes when placing a bet on a team to win at home with short odds. With that in mind there is an argument for Swansea with 1.5 goal headstart here.

West Ham vs Arsenal

The value is on West Ham here, almost 5.00, at home, in a London Derby

Bournemouth vs Liverpool

Liverpool have certainly turned a corner this year, but its their home form that has been more impressive. They look slightly short against Bournemouth here, we don’t think we could trust them to win outright and only get paid 1.74 for the risk of them not completing the challenge, after all they have failed to win in 10 of their last 19 games and 7 of their last 15 against similar opposition.

Everton vs Man United

Everton have a decent record in this fixture winnng 3 of the 5 head to heads. In addition they remain undefeated in their last 6. Man United are inconsistent and the value firmly sides with Everton here at 3.70. On a rolling season basis, Man United have won only 7 from 19 and Everton have lost only 6 from 19.

Middlesbrough vs Hull

There isn’t much to go on here in terms of stats but the standout for us would be how low Middlesbrough are. They have not proved to be good enough to be priced at odds on against anyone this season and Hull at 5.54 look to be the value pick.
