Race 8: TESSERA

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 5:
SHOCKING LUCK beat a number of these comprehensively last start and should be better suited by this track and distance, he will be hard to beat again. PRIZED ICON bas been racing well in strong company without winning this preparation, he may find this easier and should be in the finish. VIOLATE was well beaten last start after a controversial defeat in the Gunsynd Classic, he gets a gear change and with Noel Callow to ride should be in the finish again. ORDER AGAIN was well beaten but ran on solidly last start, he is better suited on this track and should be closing late.

Race 6:
ARTISTRY was badly hampered at Scone, she is suited by this distance and with Hugh Bowman staying on should get a good run throughout. RAIMENT won easily in Group 3 last start, she runs on strongly and may be suited by this track. ECKSTEIN resumed solidly and should be improved, she won her only start at this track and with Corey Brown to ride should be running on. SAGARONNE is moody but talented, she has been trialling well and can race well fresh, watch the market.

Race 7:
DERRYN ran on well in the Doomben 10,000, he may appreciate this track and could be hard to hold off. CLEARLY INNOCENT returned to form at Scone and has won both starts at this distance, he should be running on for Hugh Bowman. BLACK HEART BART disappointed first-up in the Goodwood and blinkers go back on, he rarely runs poorly and will be closing late. JUNGLE EDGE won easily at Doomben and may enjoy the soft Eagle Farm surface, he is backing up quickly and can be prominent.

Race 8:
HEROIC VALOUR just missed when favourite in the Gold Coast Guineas, this is harder but he should be improved and can be in the finish. TESSERA has just missed at both outings since resuming, this is harder but he should get a good run throughout. GOOD STANDNG won easily last start and is better suited by this distance, he is poorly drawn but should be prominent with Damian Browne to ride. I THOUGHT SO ran on solidly last start and should get a good run throughout.

Morphettville

William Hill – The Wolf:

Race 1: 1. Jolie Rose
Race 2: 2. Hussybay
Race 3: 1. So You Too – BEST BET
Race 4: 5. Tidy Prophet
Race 5: 2. Counter Pulse
Race 6: 8. Mystified
Race 7: 2. Snake Charmer
Race 8: 2. Roselli Sting

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 5:
COUNTER PULSE looks the leader from the good draw and will be making his own luck. Has been racing very well this time in and if the leaders are dominating early, he looks one of the better bets on the card. MIO DIO should have the cold sit on the leader and if he cops any pressure and is ridden for luck, may pop through the gate late. BENZ will be solid in the market but will start under the odds and looks a good lay, must include in the wider exotics though. KARLOVASI looks poorly weighted but grows a leg around the Parks track.

Race 6:
POMP has good speed and loves it fresh from the paddock. Look for him to lead all the way. MYSTIFIED has the awkward rails draw that can sometimes bring the sit-sprint types undone. With any luck though she should be running on hard. She may more upside than these. STREETCAR ILLUSION will be giving them a big start but may get the solid tempo needed with the big field. VICKY’S BOY for fourth.

Race 7:
TYCOON SOFIE looks to have all the options at the start here and should be making her own luck. AFFRAY has a barnstorming finish on him and the speed is likely to be right on here. SNAKE CHARMER may need some help getting away from the inside but should savage the line fresh. GALAXY GAZER looks better suited back in this grade but does meet one that beat it convincingly last start.

Race 8:
Huge field to finish the day. Where to look. May be best if they put up something shorter than about six dollars to hit the pink button and lay it. Play wide in any bet type you have. MISS JOOLIA may be a good price, she has really ran on well at her last couple. Will be giving them a start. DOUBLE POCKETS is going ok. Others with a chance include ROSELLI STING from the back and ABU DHABI who will have to fly early and try and cross in my opinion.

4. COOLCRAFT from 9, 3, 2

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 6:
Nothing separated SISKEN and IN TIMES OF WAR when they met at Canterbury April 26, expecting the same again. SISKEN is flying this time in winning all three of her starts. IN TIMES OF WAR is becoming costly after placing in all three runs this preparation. NUDIERUDIE is ready to win after two runs back from a spell. This is easier and gets in well after the claim. Forgive YUMA DESERT on last start where she was forced to cover ground at Rosehill last start. She is much better suited in this.

Race 7:
ALLERGIC gets his chances here after placing in his past three starts. This looks his race, the one to beat. BIG BLUE peaks here after two runs back from a spell and out to the 2400m. BROADSIDE is on the quick back up after winning at Rosehill on Saturday, will give them something to catch. RICHARD OF YORKE is a winner two of his past three starts over this distance. Can forgive last start when things didn’t quite pan out.

Race 8:
Going with the new kids on the block down in the weights. BADAJOZ resumes here after winning two trials. He looks to have turned the corner after being gelded. MACHINEGUN JUBS hit the line strongly at Rosehill last start. Settles closer here and gets some weight relief. HIEROGLPHICS has been freshened since battling in her past two starts. Improver back on a drier track. INZ’N’OUT resumes here after placing in a recent trial. Can sprint well fresh.

Race 9:
COOLCRAFT is ready to win after two runs back from a spell. He has been looking for the 1400m and been crying out for a big track. WAYANKA has won both runs this time in since being gelded. Harder here but can win again. LEVEL EIGHT is very consistent. He was a winner two back before finishing close up in a similar race last start, just needs luck from the draw. RUTHLESS AGENT can bounce back here after he was given no hope at Doomben last start.

BEST EACH-WAY: Race 9 #14 DATA POINT

Ladbrokes Race Comments:

Race 6:
PLEIN CIEL was unwanted first-up but showed he’s come back in good shape. Perfectly placed up to the mile and onto the dryer track, he’ll be hard to hold out. ONPICALO will be right at his top off the strong win. He should cross and be tough to get past. PETROLOGY is impossible to catch but a repeat of his last run is good enough. KENJORWOOD, COLDSTONE and KILLARNEY KID could all win without surprising.

Race 7:
PEDRENA was strong through the line last start when ridden a touch quieter. In ok with the claim, if she can slot in midfield she’ll take beating. LEOTIE looks to be getting near her top. From the good gate, she can improve again. WINDBERN ran the mile out strong last start. She’ll race closer and be fighting out the finish. IHEARTPOPPY is much better than maiden grade. She can go on with it.

Race 8:
ZAMZAM was completely dominant 2nd-up and should only improve again. In ok with the claim, if she has any luck rolling forward she’ll take beating. WIDGEE TURF ran a great race fresh and may have backed up too quick last start. He’ll bounce back. ROYAL ACE still has more upside. With the Weir stable happy not to claim he will be in the finish. VALLIANO can be there for a long way if they ride him for speed.

Race 9:
Wide open race to finish the card. CANNYESCENT has been right at the top of his form all prep. The good gate offsets the big weight, he’ll be hard to hold out. THELBURG is charging through the grades. He’s quick enough to cross so looks the one to catch again. DATA POINT has always shown a stack of talent and looks ready to go on with it as a gelding. There’s a stack more chances including STRIKE FORCE, CHAMOIS ROAD and ORIENT LINE.
