Would like to see betting push before considering.

PLATINUM ANGEL (9) Classy galloper who’s previous runs in similar races make for good reading here. Capable of taking this out. PLUCKY GIRL (2) Smart type who is sure to be up to this. Live winning chance. MAGIC ALIBI (10) Thereabouts. Could win if rediscovers best form and worth a spec bet. POMELO (7) Sound chances. Use betting as a guide and appears a rough hope for multiples here.

First of the features is the Ipswich Cup where Ecuador figures to gain a soft lead, First Crush may push on, probably a good idea with the lack of early opposition. TRADESMAN should be in the first four from the draw & looks to have found a suitable race. Well backed in the Doomben Cup he just didn’t fire at all, next start in the O’Shea he beat all bar the dominant Egg Tart & that’s the best formline going around here. ECUADOR if left alone will prove hard to run down, can improve sharply on recent performances. There’s very little between the rest of them.

Competitive line up to go around in this years Eye Liner where the early tempo will come from I’m a Rippa, Religify & Most Important, there are a couple of others who are capable of also pushing on (12 & 13). Taking a punt with LUCKY HUSSLER who has the steadier of 61kg to carry however from that inside draw nice & fresh could take up a midfield spot, from there with a clear crack at them in the straight look out! TYZONE has really turned the corner since transferring to Toby Edmonds, similar story with an inside draw, just needs room to figure in the finish. Chances don’t end there though!

Race 9:
Pomelo & Dontbabylon like to run along in their races & both should do so here settling up a solid tempo. Many, many chances as you would expect in a black type fillies & mares race. Wide gate for PLATINUM ANGEL however she does like to get back in her races & with the pace on early she’ll get her chance to run over them late. Melbourne form was good before back in trip when narrowly beaten at the Sunshine Coast. TUMBLER will improve sharply off the first up run, topweight against some classy types here will certainly test her right out though. PLUCKY GIRL must be included.

TRADESMAN has won two of four on a softer track and won once this prep at Warrnambool three runs back, big chance. MISS DUBOIS placed last start at Gold Coast and won three of seven as a favourite, place best. SMART AS YOU THINK has run well on a softer track and has four placings from six runs this prep, place claims. ECUADOR will appreciate the cut in the ground and generally races near the speed, chance to place.
Race 8:
TYZONE looking for a hatrick after winning two in a row at Doomben and Gold Coast, commands respect. MOSS ‘N’ DALE has run well on a softer track and has good early speed, sneaky chance. I’M A RIPPA has won at Doomben and placed in all other attempts this campaign, quinella. LUCKY HUSSLER resumes after a 22 week spell and trialled at Gold Coast, strong place chance.

PLATINUM ANGEL 2 wins from seven attempts this campaign and has run well with the sting out of the ground, a winning chance. TUMBLER disappointed when placing as favourite last start at Sunshine Coast on a soft track when first up but has won two of four on a softer track and should come on strong in the end to threaten, don’t dismiss. MANAYA last start winner at Gold Coast and drops in weight, quinella. POMELO won two of four with the sting out of the ground and has shown early speed in races to date, not the worst.
