BetEasy – Race Synopsis:

Race 6:
SNAPDANCER (6) was well in the betting first up given that her profile said that she would improve sharply over further. Thought she ran really well there to be beaten less than two lengths and she could explode up to the mile now. Very talented. BETCHA FLYING (4) was well held fresh but her form spiked after her fresh run back in the spring and she can improve now without surprising. Think the mile can suit her. It certainly suits PARADEE (7) who won really well at the trip last time at Flemington and just needs some luck in running to be in the finish again here. MEUSE (2) gets blinkers and ran well last time. Has a hope along with LA TENE (1).

Race 7:
BIVOUAC (9) was awesome winning the Newmarket and there is little doubt that he is the horse to beat based on that. He was flying when he came here for the Manikato in the spring only to draw barrier one and get caught up in traffic. Will want to bounce early to avoid the same fate but clearly hard to beat if he does. LOVING GABY (11) was no match for him in the Newmarket but she took advantage of his hard luck around here in the spring and she’s drawn to get a similar run this time. Must be a great chance. EXCEEDANCE (10) was well backed in the Newmarket but was never likely. More pressure up front this time and if they are making ground he’s a threat. The talent is there. GYTRASH (3) is flying and looks sure to run well again. Interesting runner is MYSTIC JOURNEY (6) back from a break. She likely needs this one at 1200m but betting can tell us more. Would be wary of her if fancied.

Race 8:
PRINCESS JENNI (4) won the Stocks Stakes here in the spring off a similar set up and think that she did enough first up to think that she can explode and win again up to the mile this time. Talented and still has room to improve with the winning jock going back aboard. ARISTIA (1) was well held in the All Star Mile but this is lengths easier and that can bring her right to her top. Looks a terrific chance. SPANISH REEF (2) was alongside her two back and while a touch plain last time she can run well in this. IRITHEA (3) looks the leader and can give them something to catch. BAM’S ON FIRE (7) should run well again.

Sportsbet – Race Comments and Selections:

Race 6:
They’ve ridden MRS BECKHAM positively at her past few starts with success, but from the widest draw, I think they have to ride her with a sit. She’s shown that she can unleash a big finish when ridden quietly. With even luck, she’ll be hard to beat stepping up to the 1600m. BETCHA FLYING was only fair first up but if you peruse over her form, you’ll see she’s never at her best when fresh. Talented filly who I’m sure we’ll see the best of here second up. SNAPDANCER was very good behind LA TENE in a G2 last start. Up to 1600m suits.
Selections: 3. Mrs Beckham (Value Bet), 4. Betcha Flying, 6. Snapdancer, 2. Meuse

Race 7:
Outstanding race. BIVOUAC had the Newmarket sewn up a long way home in what was a dominant display against a hot field down the Flemington straight. Should have won the Manikato over this track/trip in the spring but couldn’t get a crack at them. PIPPIE went very fast out in front and was never headed when winning the Oakleigh Plate. Likely leads again, but will need that speed if she’s to outlast them over the slightly longer trip she sees tonight. VITAL SILVER was arguably the run of the race in the Manikato. He covered ground and loomed up to win but was no match for winner LOVING GABY who carried 7.5kg less and enjoyed a much softer run.
Selections: 9. Bivouac (Top Tip), 7. Pippie, 4. Vital Silver, 11. Loving Gaby

Race 8:
Loved the return from PRINCESS JENNI at Flemington a fortnight ago, working home into third after being near last on the turn. She’s a previous G2 winner over this route and has won all three of her second up starts. BAM’S ON FIRE stepped up to the mile for the first time last start and you could make a case she was unlucky not to win. Racing in good heart and deserves another win. IRITHEA was only nabbed very late in Sydney last start with a freakish performance needed to beat her. CRYPTIC JEWEL the best roughie.
Selections: 4. Princess Jenni (Top Tip), 7. Bam’s On Fire, 3. Irithea
